Jamestown is a community with a rich past and bright future. Jamestown’s central location at the intersection of I-94 and Highway 281, midway between Bismarck (the state capital) and Fargo (the state’s largest city). Located at the confluence of the James and Pipesterm Rivers, Jamestown offers a variety of recreational opportunities: summer activities such as fishing, hunting and golfing; winter activities such as ice fishing, snowmobiling and cross country skiing. It is also home to Jamestown College, the oldest independent university in North Dakota founded in 1884.
